Epoxy Flake uses thousands of decorative colour chips broadcast into a coloured base coat. It's textured, non-slip, hides minor marks, and is our most popular system for home garages.
Metallic Epoxy uses mica-pigmented resin that's hand-worked while wet to create a three-dimensional swirl effect — high gloss, no two floors the same. It's a premium, design-led finish.
Both use the same underlying epoxy build and both carry our 7-year guarantee and warranty.
Properly installed, both systems are built to last for decades in a residential garage. We've installed floors that are many years old and still look brand new. The 7-year guarantee and warranty is the written backstop, not an optimistic estimate.
Our flake system is genuinely non-slip — the flake texture combined with our polyurethane topcoat gives excellent grip, wet or dry. Metallic is smoother by default, but we can add a non-slip additive to the topcoat if grip is a priority. Just let us know at the quote.
Yes. Our epoxy systems are chemical-resistant against oil, petrol, brake fluid, battery acid, paint, and standard household cleaners. The topcoat is also formulated to handle hot tyre pickup — a common failure point for cheap kit-from-the-hardware-store epoxies.
No. We use a UV-stable polyurethane topcoat specifically to prevent yellowing and fading — important in Melbourne where garage doors are often open in direct sun. Cheap epoxy systems use a non-UV-stable topcoat that yellows within a year or two; ours doesn't.
Most residential flake garages are done in 1–2 days. Metallic floors typically take 2–3 days because the metallic layer needs more cure time. We'll give you an exact schedule at the quote based on your slab size and condition.
Light foot traffic the morning after the final topcoat. Vehicle traffic — including hot tyres — after 48–72 hours from final topcoat. We give you the exact times for your job at handover, written on your care guide.
Yes — the slab needs to be completely empty before we start. We don't move belongings (it's a liability thing). Most customers shift things into the driveway, a spare room, or hire a portable storage box for the install week. We'll give you 2 weeks' notice once you book so you have time.
In almost every case, yes. Our prep process — diamond grinding the slab — removes existing sealers, paint, and surface oil contamination. Cracks are routed and filled with a structural epoxy before priming. If we spot a deeper structural issue (rare), we'll tell you on the quote.
We moisture-test every slab before priming. If readings are too high, we use a moisture-barrier primer designed for damp slabs. This is the single biggest reason cheap epoxy jobs fail within a year — moisture pushes up through and lifts the coating. We test for it on every job.
Honestly — it depends on the slab. Size, condition, how much prep is needed, and which system you choose all change the number. Tell us about your garage — the size, a few photos, and the finish you're after — and we'll give you a clear written quote with everything included. No cheap phone number that quietly balloons on the day.
Genuinely free, genuinely no obligation. You tell us about your garage, we talk through the options and the finish that suits, and we send you a written quote. If it's not the right time, the right system, or the right price for you — that's fine. We'd rather you wait and book us properly than say yes under pressure.
Typical lead time is 2–4 weeks from booking to install. We'll give you an honest answer about availability when you call — if we're slammed, we'll say so rather than over-promise.
We take a small deposit at booking to cover materials ordering. The balance is paid on completion, after you've inspected the floor and signed off. We'll walk you through the payment terms in writing with your quote.
Materials and workmanship. If the system delaminates, lifts, peels, or fails structurally within seven years through no fault of yours, we come back and put it right. The guarantee and warranty is a written document handed over on completion — not a verbal promise.
It doesn't cover deliberate damage, dragging sharp metal across the floor, or chemical spills we didn't warn about. That's it.
Sweep, then mop with warm water and a mild detergent. That's it. No waxing, no resealing, no special products. For stubborn marks, a soft scrubbing pad works fine. We hand over a one-page care guide at handover with our recommended products.
No — the system is designed as a permanent floor finish, not a re-coat-every-few-years product. If you ever do want to refresh the gloss after 15+ years of heavy use, we can come back and apply a fresh topcoat. But it's not required.
Yes. The 7-year guarantee and warranty stays with the floor, not the original owner. New buyers get the same coverage from the original install date — and our flake/metallic floors are increasingly being called out in property listings as a feature.
We'd rather talk to you for ten minutes now than have you book and feel unsure. Genuinely, give us a ring.
